چکیده

The aim of this study was to determine the presence methicillin resistant staphylococci (MRS) in retail raw chicken meat samples sold Hatay. antimicrobial susceptibility isolates tested for 13 different antimicrobials by disc diffusion method and investigated resistance genes encoding (mecA), tetracycline (tetM, tetK), penicillin (blaZ), macrolide (ermA, ermC), lincosamide (lnuA) aminoglycoside [aac(6′)/aph(2′′), aph(3′)‐IIIa, ant(4′)‐Ia] via use polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In addition, staphylococcal enterotoxin (SE) also searched PCR. Out 50 collected samples, 11 (22%) MRS isolated following species were determined: S. sciuri (72.7%, 8/11) epidermidis (27.3%, 3/11). While all oxacillin, ampicillin, various rates observed (8, 72.7%), clindamycin (3, 27.3%), trimethoprim‐sulfamethoxazole (2, 18.2%), erythromycin 18.2%) rifampicin (1, 9.1%). All harbored mecA gene together with blaZ. tetM responsible ribosomal protection detected phenotypically isolates. ermC lnuA detected. None found be positive SE genes. results indicated that contamination poses a risk public health due transmission these bacteria humans. Additionally, highlights importance monitoring animal originated foods.

Isolation of methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci from chickens.

Methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci were isolated from the nares and skin of 1- to 8-week-old healthy chickens in three flocks from a farm. Isolation of methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci was positive for 72 (25.7%) of the 280 chickens tested, with the frequency varying from 2.2 to 100% according to flock. A total of 45 appropriate isolates were selected a...

Methicillin-resistant staphylococci.

Strains of staphylococci resistant to methicillin were identified immediately after introduction of this drug. Methicillin-resistant strains have unusual properties, the most notable of which is extreme variability in expression of the resistance trait. The conditions associated with this heterogeneous expression of resistance are described. Methicillin resistance is associated with production ...

Methicillin-resistant staphylococci.

Eighteen strains of Staph. pyogenes (nine penicillin-sensitive and nine penicillin-destroying) were passaged 40 to 50 times on Celbenin(1) ditch plates. All strains developed an increase in resistance to Celbenin and eight strains (four penicillin-sensitive and four penicillin-destroying) were able to grow in 100 mug/ml. or more Celbenin. Resistance was of the drug-tolerant type and none of the...

conclusions these findings illustrated the presence and persistence of clonal groups of mrsa strains, in chicken meat in isfahan, iran, that serve as reservoirs to disseminate bacteriophage encoded enterotoxin and virulence agents. results all 116 isolated mrsa strains were discriminated into seven php types consisting of seven common types (cts) and were positive for meca gene. all isolates ha...
